Great British Bake Off star spills the beans!
'An audience with Flora' at Birnam Arts gave over 200 local Flora fans an insight into some of the secrets behind the BBC TV baking show that drew audiences of 15 million people every week.
Sweet success, secrets and behind the scenes activity were revealed when acclaimed author Ann Lindsay chatted to GBBO star Flora Sheddon in a relaxed and informal interview.
It was also a chance to have a glass of bubbly and taste examples of the food enjoyed by Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood.
The taste of Flora's success left the audience hungry for more - and fortunately they won't have long to wait because her eagerly anticipated book 'Gatherings' is due out in time for Burns Night 2017.
'Gatherings' is a celebration of food that can be enjoyed with a couple of friends or larger parties "the recipes show that young people can do far better than buy a bottle of wine and a take away pizza" explained Flora and although she wasn't being drawn on exact recipes many of them will apparently offer readers simple ways to enjoy good food.
Both Flora and Ann had agreed to do the event to raise funds for the Birnam Arts Centre and a delighted centre manager Stuart Flatley announced that almost £3,000 had been raised by ticket sales - and that this was boosted by another £900 from the raffle for a special celebration cake baked, naturally, by Flora.
